Some place needs to be left for the Idli to rise. The mold is placed inside the pressure cooker Idli maker grid. After this the Idli maker is closed with its lid but the whistle is not added. The heat is increased to high and the Idlis are allowed to cook for ten minutes. After this the heat is switched off and the Idlis are allowed to cool for 5 minutes.
